LAUSA AIR BEGINS HELICOPTER AEROMED OPERATIONS
Posted on | April 8, 2010 6:52am | No Comments
LAUSA Air has entered into a new dimension of helicopter operations. With the introduction of the Bell 412 & 430 into the fleet, LAUSA AIR now has a capability to respond to emergency medical incidents within the Chicago O’Hare and Orland area. Working on behalf of LAUSA sponsor Air Medical Group, the aircraft have been assigned 3 leg routes under 100 miles. Pilot flying helimed operations will first be checkout by LAUSA’s helicopter flight instructors before certification to fly heli’s is granted. We hope to see a steady flow of helicopter pilots joining the operation over the next few month….
Helicopter testimonial from an LAUSA member:
I have been addicted to Microsoft Flight Sim since the first one back in the late 80’s. Those of you who are old enough might remember the checkerd grid with the river that divided the flying area in half with 2 dimensional mountains on 2 sides. I remember the first thought that crossed my mind when I loaded FS for the first time and it was, “where’s the helicopter?” I guess you can say that my love for helicopters goes way back to my childhood; when other kids wanted to be fireman and doctors, I wanted to be a helicopter pilot.
I had been flying in gamespy, randomly, and without a true sense of purpose for many years. I had thought about joining a few virtual airlines but I didnt want to get trapped in a fix-wing. I had been jumping from room to room hoping to find others that share my passion for helicopters and being a pain in the butt to many a FSX ATC. The fact is most people who jump in the tower dont know how to handle helicopter traffic, so as a helicopter enthusiast, life can be pretty lonely. I got involved in a competitors VA and I was flying along (fixed-wing) turning on and off the autopilot and vectoring for final. I was miserable…. Then I met dan and he told me that LAUSA has a VA that had helicopter med flights using callsign ‘Lifeguard’. I couldnt believe it! Exactly what I had been looking for all these years. I picked my jaw up off the floor and signed up immediately. I was so excited that I went out and bought a new helicopter (Cera Bell 212) (you gotta check it out). It still amazes me how few helicopter pilots there are in the flight sim community, but maybe, there are more than we know about and they are just like I was; lost, looking for a home….
Maybe you have been thinking about helicopters but are intimidated by their slow speed and constant need for attention…. Let face it, learning all the physics a helicopter takes some time. Well dont be. Helicopter flying is exciting, empowering, and purposeful. Come join us and see. If you need instruction, you’ll get it. www.lausa.co.uk

LAUSA AIR City Flyer Division launches European Hub at London City Airport EGLC
Posted on | September 2, 2009 9:33am | No Comments
City Flyer is the entry point into LAUSA AIR and requires all pilots who join LAUSA AIR to spend the first 50 hours of their virtual career on regional hops between cities. After 25 our pilots are eligible for promotion to First Officer and transfer from the Dash 8 onto the CRJ 700. Pilots are only allowed to fly routes from KMCO which is the hub for City Flyer. With the launch of London City, City Flyer will be flying to all major European cities and City Flyers’ CEO Anthony Tester is currently negotiating code sharing terms for City Flyer Europe with LAUSA AIR’s European alliance partner FLOCK AIR.President of LAUSA, Daniel Harvey recently appointed Anthony Tester as CEO of CITY FLYER to oversee the induction and pilot training for all City Flyer Aircrew. Anthony is a real world pilot operating the Dash 8 for Austrian Airlines and is based in Vienna.
This restructure has benefited LAUSA AIR/City Flyer as a whole with pilot retention currently at 90%. Pilots join LAUSA Air as fully trained pilots able to fly IFR and read instrument approach charts in a competent and professional manner expected of all LAUSA AIR pilots.

City Flyer Launches Lausa Air Regional Service
Posted on | November 24, 2008 4:04pm | No Comments
Following a major reorganization of its main division, London Aviators USA’s virtual airline, Lausa Air, announced the establishment of a regional feeder service intended to supplement its domestic and international long-haul service. From its Orlando, Florida hub, and utilizing the DeHavilland Dash-8 and Canadair CRJ-700 aircraft, City Flyer is now the entry point for new pilots to integrate into the existing Lausa Air system. After completing 20 hours with City Flyer, pilots will have the option to transfer into Lausa Air but City Flyer management hopes some pilots will want to remain with the regional operation. Newly appointed City Flyer C.E.O. Chris Hattaway will run the new division. Interested pilots should check out Lausa Air’s website at: londonaviatorusa.page.tl for more information.
Concession and Reorganization: Lausa Air Looks to Emerge Stronger than Before
Posted on | November 21, 2008 4:47am | 1 Comment
Lausa Air has decided to close many of its non-U.S. hubs in an effort to reorganize its operations following a downturn in the U.S. economy. In recent months, Lausa Air has seen its hubs at Changi-Singapore (WSSS); Dubai, UAE (OMDB); London-Heathrow (EGLL); Paris-Charles DeGaulle (LFPG); Lisbon-Portela (LPPT); Helsinki-Vantaa (EFHK); Amsterdam-Schipol (EHAM); Phoenix-Sky Harbor (KPHX); Washington D.C.-Ronald Reagan (KDCA); Roswell, New Mexico (KROW); Hato-Curacao (TNCC); Cairo, Egypt (HECA); and Munich, Germany (EDDM) close or reallocated in favor of more profitable hubs in North America, such as Denver International (KDEN); Orlando International (KMCO); and Vancouver, B.C. in Western Canada. However, despite the major restructuring, Lausa Air remains one of the most profitable virtual airlines on the VAFS network consistently ranking among the top airlines in terms of monthly hours flown.
Lausa Air also has returned or sold many of its older aircraft in favor of newer technology such as the Airbus Industrie A321 which are on lease from British Airways in a lease-to-buy agreement established earlier this month. The new A321’s compliment Lausa Air’s existing fleet of workhorse aircraft including the Boeing 737-800 and -900 series, Boeing 747-400 and -8 series, the Canadair CRJ-700, Beechcraft King Air 350, and the incompareable McDonnel Douglas MD-11 in both passenger and freighter variants. Lausa Air is among only a handful of airlines on the VAFS network that operate the new Boeing 747-8 aircraft and the airline is very please with its results thus far. In a recent press release, the airline stated, “with the increased capacity of each B748, LAUSA AIR will be able to run each month with less overhead.”
Membership numbers for the virtual airline have been on the rise and Lausa Air looks to emerge from its restructuring stronger and leaner than ever. “[We] decided to open more hubs around North America and Canada,” said Lausa Air Management, “and [the airline] is still focused on achieving the global reach it once had.”
Pilots interested in joining Lausa Air should check out their website at: londonaviatorusa.page.tl

CHARTER CHATTER
On my charter flight in the Desert Falcon X7, from Ft Lauderdale to Burbank- I flew 3 camera crew members | Wyatt Converse, Kayley Smith, James Stackton | it was quite a loud flight as the crew's phones ringing by the minute. Kayley Smith was the loud one of the flight, very noise and very energy-filled while Wyatt Converse lay on the couch asleep for the full flight from the climb up to the climb down. James Stackton was quite a drinker during this flight and seemed like he wanted to jump out of the plane, land in a bar, and throw a major party. Overall this flight was one of the most. Abnormal flights I have piloted, quite a joy.
Sounds like you had quite the trip with unruly camera crew onboard, hope they settle down with the Director and Producer on board going over to Mexico.
During this flight from Burbank to Mexico we had the camera crew added with the twist of the Director and the Producer, this flight was quite quiet due to the Director being aboard, no alcohol served this flight, and it was a very quiet flight, easy to handle, not many calls, this flight was more of the think and relax type flight
This flight from Mexico to Helena Montana was quite a roller coaster, as the movie star stepped aboard the paparazzi was up to the windows being camera-trigger-happy. As the security backed them up and the door closed, the alcohol was quickly brought out and then about halfway into the crazy and exciting flight, everyone had fallen asleep. They woke up 40 minutes until landing, all of them tired. As we landed, and excited the Falcon 7X everyone went straight to their rooms in the lodge and slept for about 3 hours, once fully re-freshed, they went into the meeting room with the pilot and they all went over where they would like to visit for the movie and what they would like to bring. Overall, this flight was as I said before, a roller coaster. Started crazy and full of excitement like a 5 year old full of sugar, then in the middle ended, well.. like a 5 year old on a major sugar crash. Great flight and smooth landing.
WELCOME
Welcome to all our new pilots and a special welcome to a pilot rejoining Lausa Air.

THANKYOU
