PRESIDENTS WORLD TOUR

As Chairman of Lausa Air I have decided to take a break from flying jets for LAUSA AIR and also Management and go on a fund raising Virtual world tour Sponsored by Air Medical Group. Until further Notice, Tom Smith is the Acting President and responsible for all executive decisions regarding LAUSA & LAUSA AIR.

I have released a Cessna 208 Caravan G-UKPS from the LAUSA Fleet for private use. I will for the next few week be flying VA world tour in this aircraft  virtually visiting LAUSA MANAGERS and friends as well as close friends from Flight sim community and each of LAUSA AIR & CITY FLYER 16 hubs around the world. This purpose of this tour is just simple fun and to do something in flight sim I believe has not been done yet.  I hope to secure a small donation from you via our paypal account

 https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=IjtMTQWfjZCQuBqIqo82y65JSfzY2dXKGKVIs87s-dJ_Tch4FVNghXdBUXO&dispatch=50a222a57771920b6a3d7b606239e4d529b525e0b7e69bf0224adecfb0124e9b5efedb82468478c6e115945fd0658595dbb4bda98e0c5f8e

in support of this adventure..  If you support me I will deffo come visit you and your name or company logo will be added to the pilot door of the aircraft and included in world tour photos within 48 hours of receiving your small donation. All funds made from this tour go directly back into the running and maintain of LAUSA.  I drink ENGLISH Tea, white, two sugars!!!

IF YOU HAVE RECIEVED THIS EMAIL I NEED THE ICAO CODE FOR THE AIRPORT CLOSEST TO YOU VIA A REPLY EMAIL SO I CAN ADD YOU TO MY ROUTE.!!!  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

My journey started yesterday from London Gatwick to LFPL Emarainville just south of Paris. Tonight I am sleeping an the Hilton in Geneva compliment of Mr Joe Gonzales.  I hope to have an aircraft liveried up within the next few days with AMG’s logo for the next few weeks at least the LAUSA image galley

http://www.lausa.co.uk/index.php?option=com_oziogallery2&view=05imagerotator&Itemid=181

is dedicated to pictures from various locations of my world tour. From Geneva which is a City Flyer Hub I will be heading south toward LAUSA AIR HUB Beirut. I plan my days route in the morning so at this stage not sure where my journey will take me but it will be south and it will be on VAFS.  On Monday I will arrive at my good friends house via Dubai International. Alain, I look forward to your virtual hospitality.

After Dubai I plan the North Coast of Africa into Hub Tenerife, with long range internal tanks make the long flight across the ocean to the Caribbean islands then northbound towards North America..  Well that the plan for the next ten days. I hope to get a minimum of two hours on the simulator every day on this tour.

You can keep track of the progress of this world tour via the live VAFS flight map daily http://www.vafinancials.com/beta/vafs_map2.php?id=361

LAUSA AIR PHOTO COMPETITION

The Management of Lausa Air invites all pilots to join in a screenshot competition of your best photo whilst on a Virtual Airline flight.

The winning screenshot will be posted on the galley for the following month and a prize will be given to the winner for your photographic skills.

Your prize will be a two-hour ATC session in your home airport with certified Lausa ATC controllers attending; it can be anytime for you so you may participate in the session.

For any pilot unsure how to take a screenshot whilst out there flying, it is really easy, just click on the V key on your computer keyboard whilst in flight. The screenshot will be saved on your computer you may then submit it to the competition.

You may submit more then one screenshot each month if you wish, please send all photos to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and the results of the competition will be in the monthly newsletter recognizing the winner.

Have fun and make some beautiful pictures whilst flying high.

LAUSA  APRIL 2010 NEWSLETTER

Lausa Air has had a busy and productive month in April with lots of pilots flying and lots of hours logged. We said goodbye to the following hubs, LOWW Vienna, LCLK Cyprus and CYVR Vancouver, we are proud to announce the re-opening of OLBA Beirut and soon to be up and operational KJFK New York and PAJN Juneau. We now offer Helicopter Aeromed charters, the King Air Aeromed charters and in May we will also offer Falcon 7x Aeromed charters along with the Corporate charters already in place.

NOTE: PAJN Juneau will commence a Float Plane operation and become a new LCF hub.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVERS THIS MONTH ARE:
Mike Aase LAA116 upgrade to Senior Captain Apr 4/10
Anthony T LAA314 upgrade to Fleet Captain Apr 14/10
Kenrick Dunkley LAA821 upgrade to Senior Captain Apr 15/10
Dan Harvey LAA472 grand total of 5,000 hours

DID YOU KNOW.
All pilots must now pay a jumpseat fee to move out of their designated hub, however at the beginning of each month Lausa Air will provide you with an airline ticket to you new hub.

AND DID YOU KNOW
Those pilots chosen to fly one of the charters will be provided with a return ticket from Corporate Headquarters to complete their charter sets.

CHARTER CHATTER
So the co - pilot and I were doing some skiing at Davos when we got the cell phone call that there was a group of businessmen at Ambri, Switzerland needing a ride to Milan and various other places. We drove there, got checked in, pulled the charts and I swear, the co - pilots eyes got as big as dinner plates when he saw what we have to do to get the Falcon in and out of there!! Some very majestic mountains surround the place, makes it a bit tricky to do, but the Falcon’s extra engine should make it a piece of cake...Will check in later
Once you figure out how to get out of there the beautiful Greek Islands await you for snorkeling, scuba diving and sundowners.
Me and my falcon are out of there as well on our way up north looking for Santa, will let you know how I do.
I thought I saw your Falcon sitting there nice and pretty on the ramp at Ambri.
Good grief, that took a maximum climb in the Falcon to get out of there!! Like I said, thank God for three engines; full power on the runway, release brakes and cross yourself that no engine sucks in a bird or stone...Had all three pumping max power to climb out.
Co - pilot and I will be in Milan for a couple of days before going to Greece, permission to take the Falcon and checkout the approach to Ambri?
Have submitted your request to Flight ops and permission granted to checkout the approach to Ambri. Thanks, I'll file the flight plan tomorrow
Before I get started, I have to say that whoever decided that Ambri was a great place to put an airport must be the most sadistic person on the planet. Whoever decided that it would be a good place to fly jets in and out of is not too far behind!!
So the co - pilot and I took the Falcon out to check it out. Did a VFR GPS direct Malpensa - Ambri thinking we could do the suggested flyover and circle to land. When we got overhead, we decided in quick order that the valley walls were a little too close for comfort to try that. So we flew back to Italian airspace, flew over Lake Maggiore to the Locarno airport, up on the Northeast edge of the lake. Overflow that, took a left turn following the river up the valley, well below the mountain tops Follow the valley split to the left, get your airplane set up for the landing (flaps 40, gear down, spoiler armed, speed 110), the airport comes up rather quick. Touchdown, full reverse and heavy braking...piece of cake! Yeahright!! It would be a lot easier in a Cessna 150, but who charters a Cessna 150?!?!? Try it, you'll like it
I am up north with clients looking for Santa, saw a few reindeer but no Santa yet, how are things going down in the Greek Islands with your rich spoilt family?
Actually, a little cooler than I expected, only the upper 40s or low 50s F. Getting a lot of afternoon rain as well. Passengers wanted to wait another day to see if things improve.
Did you take plenty of warm clothing with you? HEAVY coats and boots at least, I hope.....
Good morning from the Diagoras airport in Rodos, Greece. Arrived here a few minutes ago.
First thing this morning, we flew the clients from Makedonia to Ippokratis. Clients were only there for about an hour, but they were all smiles when they came back to the Falcon. I guess I would be too after successfully negotiating a $22.75m contract just to play soccer!! Tough life, eh?
Flew up here to Rodos for a little more R & R...I think the co - pilot and I will check out a beautiful white sand beach we flew over on final to 25 for the day.
How is the frozen north?
Sounds like things are going very well down in the Greek Islands, meanwhile I had a great trip from Finland over to Norway flying over the fjords, now eating smoked salmon and looking for trolls. Have my winter woolies on.
Passengers in Greece say they may want to spend the weekend there, they will call when ready. Passengers called, we are on our way back to the Swiss Alps

WELCOME
To all our new pilots and special welcome back for one pilot returning from leave to rejoin the crew.

THANKYOU
To Alain Baradhi who has provided us with excellent scenery for Beirut.
Enjoy the springtime.
Regards
