I must say that out of all of the many virtual airlines I have been in since the first day of FSX's release.. Lausa Air by far has been the greatest experienced, most fun-filled, most helpful community, and definitely the best at giving someone something to do so they don't feel left out. You guys rock, I couldn't imagine working for any other virtual airline. I enjoy being competitive towards Dan and other members because it gives me a challenge and definitely keeps me away from the oh-so-loved mood of bored.

 Ever since I have been an aviation enthusiast I have looked at helicopters with a sense of wonder. I purchased FSX and begin to fly in small aircraft and the Bell 206. It was after a month if flying the 206 there that I took an orientation flght in a Robinson R22 at my local airport. I was hooked! The talent and skill needed to hover an aircraft in a ten knot wind amazes me. I've been flying in FSX and teaching myself to fly rotorcraft in the game. I enjoy being able to frustrate ATC's and other virtual pilots by entering a session and hovering around them. I work in Emergency Medicine on an ambulance and having loaded wounded persons on-board medical choppers I realized I want to be the guy flying that aircraft not loading it! LAUSA has allowed me the opportunity to expand my knowledge, to teach others to fly virtual helicopters, to enjoy the company of fellow virtual aviators in a calm and mature environment and to be involved in planning and training. As a rotorhead and a hopeful future Professional Rotorcraft Aviator I want to invite any and all aviation lovers, like us, to join us and expand their knowledge.  I have been addicted to Microsoft Flight Sim since the first one back in the late 80's. Those of you who are old enough might remember the checker grid with the river that divided the flying area in half with 2 dimensional mountains on 2 sides. I remember the first thought that crossed my mind when I loaded FS for the first time and it was, "where's the helicopter?" I guess you can say that my love for helicopters goes way back to my childhood; when other kids wanted to be fireman and doctors, I wanted to be a helicopter pilot. I had been flying in gamespy, randomly, and without a true sense of purpose for many years. I had thought about joining a few virtual airlines but I didn't want to get trapped in a fix-wing. I had been jumping from room to room hoping to find others that share my passion for helicopters and being a pain in the butt to many a FSX ATC. The fact is most people who jump in the tower don't know how to handle helicopter traffic, so as a helicopter enthusiast, life can be pretty lonely. I got involved in a competitors VA and I was flying along (fixed-wing) turning on and off the autopilot and vectoring for final. I was miserable.... Then I met Dan and the rest of the LAUSA team and he told me that LAUSA has a VA that had helicopter med flights. I couldn't believe it! Exactly what I had been looking for all these years. I picked my jaw up off the floor and signed up immediately. I was so excited that I went out and bought a new helicopter (Cera Bell 212) (you have got to check it out). It still amazes me how few helicopter pilots there are in the flight sim community, but maybe, there are more than we know about and they are just like I was; lost, looking for a home.... Maybe you have been thinking about helicopters but are intimidated by their slow speed and constant need for attention.... Let face it, learning all the physics a helicopter takes some time. Well don't be. Helicopter flying is exciting, empowering, and purposeful. Come join us and see. If you need instruction, you'll get it.

I hadn't flown a flight sim in many years, but recently bought FSX and thought I'd try the online thing. One or two sessions here and there - it was pleasant enough. Then one evening, I spawned myself on the ramp at KSFO (San Francisco, California). While doing my preflight, I listened to this guy who was ground, tower and NORCAL TRACON. AND he was texting in the chat box, as well! I was blown away - this guy was exceptional! No one I'd heard "acting" as a Controller had even come close to this guy. After joining LAUSA, I discovered his name is Zack Wagner and he's never been an Air Traffic Controller. Well, Readers, I have - for over thirty years. Take it from me, if you want quality ATC, you've come to the right place.

 I can recall the first time logging into a LAUSA session. It was roughly two years ago and my call sign was Landmark 425. My initial contact was "Tower Landmark 425 request taxi to the active, depart straight out and remain in pattern". I remember these words verbatim because after saying that phrase, my life set on a new course. Senior year came for me and I knew I wanted to pursue an aviation career. I applied to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. I knew if I wanted to chase the dream of being in the left seat of a 747, I needed Embry-Riddle. I got accepted and I am currently working toward my private and I hope to reach it by December. Thanks to LAUSA I am way ahead of the curve here. My CFI instructor asked me if I had any past experience with flying due to my amazing manoeuvring abilities. I told him NO. Just a lot of FSX. I am already talking professionally on the comms, understand traffic patterns, understand Meteorology, can successfully make the visual approach and the flare, and I also have some instrument time doing an ILS approach. Anyways the list keeps on going on and on and I can thank all of it because of LAUSA. To me LAUSA is more than just a Professional Organization. It is more than just a bunch of Flight simulator junkies who love to fly. LAUSA is more like my family. Everyone one in LAUSA are like siblings; we joke, we play and we have fun.  What can I say about LAUSA, WOUNDERFUL!! I was hooked from the very first LAUSA session I joined. I remember when and what got me to join the team, I had joined one of LAUSA's session to do ATC at another airport. I had told the LAUSA controller that I had opened an airport just south of them, and I think it was Dave who asked if I was a LAUSA member. I called him back and told him I was not.... WOW, I left the session fast. lol Any way I was so impressed with the radio traffic coming for the LAUSA controller, I just had to see for myself what made this guys so good.  Where do I begin? LAUSA, LAUSA, LAUSA. Well first of all LAUSA ROCKS. A great bunch of people sharing intrests in flight sim. Then there's what it has done for me and others sessions, after as much time as I spent with LAUSA I have come not to enjoy other sessions unless I hi-jacking someones plane.  I have been with LAUSA for around six months and never really bothered with their sessions, but a couple of months ago I decided to join (just to see what they are like). When I got in and asked for my clearance, I thought it would be something simple but I found that they go out of their way to make the sessionthe most professional and enjoyable session that I have ever seen (And I have seen a lot of servers crash-and-burn when their members list got over 100) but, when I had a look on the site I found that the members were not only over 100 but over 300! I thought "this is something else" And I think that speaks for itself!  Amazing. That is the word that comes to mind every time I join the wonderful sessions ; that are LAUSA. I am also a member of [another FSX group], but each and every time I join LAUSA sessions, I love it more, and more. [The other group] is good, but LAUSA is better. LAUSA offers a different scenery every single time. So, you get to see the world, and not just the same place every time. The ATC's at LAUSA are top notch. When you go to [the other group], it is way too hectic and often times they "forget" about you-- Which I don't like. In LAUSA, you get the ATC's undivided attention every time. LAUSA is up almost all the time, with at least 2 controllers. The Controllers know what they are doing and are very friendly. Lastly, [the other group] is NOT a community. [There], you dont have fun. At LAUSA , you have fun, you make friends and you share the bond, that is flying.

 I have been flying Flight simulator since windows 95. The complexity has steadily grown into the latest version (Flight SIm X). I have also flown many times with multi-player servers, but have FINALLY found a home with LAUSA.  I have flown with several "organized" groups on MSFS. I must say that London Aviators USA is the most friendly group I have been with. The professional management go out of their way to help and train new people, and they work very hard at making sure everyone has a good experience while logged in.
